Frequently Asked Questions About the Press Release SectionWhat is the Press Release Section?The Maine Arts Commission is pleased to keep you informed with the latest arts and cultural news from around the state. The press section allows you to browse arts and cultural press releases from around the state, post your own press releases, and download high resolution images to accompany stories, when available. How do I view press releases?To view a press release, simply click on the press release of your choice, once open you can view a high definition version of any accompanying images by clicking on the image itself. How do I add a press release?To add a press release, log in to your existing MaineArts.com user account or create a new user account. Once you have logged into your online account, select the "News" tab and click "add news release". Maine Arts Commission staff must review and approve all listings before they are live on the website. Therefore, allow up to 48 hours for the Maine Arts Commission staff to process your request. Can I upload an image to appear with my press release?Yes. After you add your press release text you will be given the option to add an image to your release. The image will appear in your press release and a higher resolution image will be available for the press to download if they wish. How do I modify an existing press release?To modify a listing you have previously posted, log in to your existing MaineArts.com user account. Select the "News" tab and the listing you wish to edit. In the form, make necessary changes and click "post" to send the release back to the website with your changes. Once the release has been modified, it is considered a new request and must be placed in que for approval by the Maine Arts Commission staff. Allow up to 48 hours for processing. How do I delete an existing press release?To delete a listing you have previously posted, log in to your existing MaineArts.com user account. Once you have accessed your MaineArts.com account, you would select the "News" tab and the listing you wish to delete. In the form, scroll to the bottom and select the radio button next to "delete" then select "post" to finalize the deletion. Your release will be removed from the website and discarded from the system. What releases are eligible for listing?All arts and cultural news is eligible for listing in the Press Release Section. How long will a press release be displayed on the website?All press releases are displayed on MaineArts.com for two years. After two years the release is automatically removed and discarded from the system.
